We walked just under 400 liquidation projects in the first year of COVID and helped take out thousands of employees worth of space. In July of 2022, NYC is still rebounding from the pandemic but the nature of office work is changed for the foreseeable future in this city.
Office Furniture NYC is still here to help with new and pre-owned furniture and furniture related services to companies that have an office in New York City and the surrounding metro.
My small team is fully vaccinated and boosted and we work with delivery and install subs who share the value of protecting employees and those they interact with from the dangers of pandemic illness.
COVID-19 Statement
Updated: We are back to full running speed since early Summer. I am available for either a furniture liquidation walk through, new or used furniture installation or for social distancing furniture such as clear acrylic screens.
Our team will always wear masks when inside an office and will only enter the space if your team are also wearing masks. If that is an issue, we can work with you over email using photographs.
During & After the Shutdown
While the governors of New York and New Jersey have implemented a state of emergency, our delivery operations are somewhat limited.
We will continue to monitor the situation with COVID 19. We will continue to follow the guidance of New York State where we work & The State of New Jersey where we where we live and where our operations are based.
We will work with our partners and clients to keep the orderly scheduling and movement of furniture installations, liquidations and removals.
During this shutdown period:
We are available to help with planning and designing your office space and can evaluate used furniture inventory via emails and photos.
New Jersey has stated: If your business is a retail business, but is considered an essential business, you may stay open – these types of businesses include: ... Printing and office supply shops.
As such we are able to work with you as much as is safe to do while following best practices and health guidelines.
After the shutdown:
As soon as the shutdown is over, we will be ready to work with clients who need a quick deployment of furniture or a quick liquidation. Our super power is always our ability to make furniture installations or decommissions within 1-2 days of our first interaction. On the day after, we will be ready to run quick.
The only analogies I have in this industry is my experience in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. At that time, we made sure the trucks were gassed up and ready and we had a warehouse full of furniture avalible for quick shipping. Once the state of emergency on the roads had been lifted, we were making deliveries the next day. There were clients who need to set up recovery sites and those who needed to add people to react to the new economic realities on the ground. I assume some of you will be in the same situation and I am planning to be able to work with you then.
Today, we also have a warehouse full of furniture ready for quick ship.
We love the City of New York and I love my home town of Teaneck, NJ. The hospital staff here are both suffering today and anticipating an onslaught of sick people over the next few weeks. To keep more of these sick people alive, we all need to practice social distancing.
This business is committed to doing our part at this time on behalf of myself, employees, the employees of our vendors, partners and clients.
Stay safe, Joshua Bernstein
