Welcome to the internet. I am Joshua and this is a website about my little office furniture business. This website does all the things websites usually do like tracking who clicks where and how long they stay on a page. For example, you are one of the 0.22% of people who open this legal notice page, and you spend an average of 5 minutes and 48 seconds reading this text which is way more than the 30 seconds you would spent on the About Us page.
How do I know this? The magic of Google Analytics. What can I do with that information? Not quite sure, but fun to drop if you are ever at a geeky cocktail party. Will this data collection affect your online privacy? I don’t know, you should check that out with the good people at EFF or ACLU. They know way more about it that we do. But we know way more about the wholesale and retail market for used Aeron chairs than they do so HA HA.
I assume the only reason you are on this page is because you also have to write your own legal notice page and hope to cover all of the bases. Don’t look at me; I copied what I thought was important from other pages. What on Earth do I know about this? I sell used office furniture on the internet. You should ask a lawyer to look at your legal notice page so the 0.22% (thats 2 out of 1000) of people who check it out will not decide they can sue you because you missed an Oxford comma someplace. Good luck.
Legal notice:
This website has been prepared solely for the purpose of providing information about Office Furniture NYC and
the services and products we offer. This website has been compiled in good faith by Office Furniture NYC.
However, no representation is made as to the completeness or accuracy of the information it contains.
Trademarks and brands mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. When referencing used furniture, we may mention Herman Miller, Haworth, Steelcase, or Allsteel to describe a used piece of furniture manufactured by one of these companies. We have no relationship with these manufacturers. If we are discussing new furniture, we either have direct or 3rd party connection to buy that furniture new for our clients.
If we are talking about something in a commercial lease as part of this website or our conversations, we are not speaking as lawyers. We live in this world so we know something about Broom Sweep Requirements and Good Guy Clause in a lease, but we know it like a furniture mover. If you need legal advice, there is an attorney who needs to upgrade her summer home on Long Island and is waiting to bill you for her good advice. Please don’t look at us like we know any of this nonsense. We sell used chairs for a living, come on now.
Also, we think AI sux. It is not going to make communications better, it will make it harder to understand each other and get in the way or real communication. You will find NO AI HERE.
Privacy:
I take my privacy seriously, you should also.
Office Furniture NYC uses off-the-shelf programs such as Squarespace and Google Analytics to monitor site usage and traffic. We use that information to improve this website.
The information we gather falls into two main categories:
1) Personal information you voluntarily supply when you contact us via telephone, email, forms on this website, or other technology such as our Facebook page, Linkedin profiles, or Instagram accounts.
2) Tracking information collected by these applications as you navigate through officefurniturenyc.com or related properties. This data may include (among other things) the Internet Protocol (IP) address, your location, device identifiers, advertising information, browser language and keyboard language, and surfing patterns.
We do not use contact information for SPAM or share, sell, or rent our clients information to those who engage in
spamming. If you sign up for our liquidations wire or other email marketing service, there is an un-subscribe link on every email. These email addresses are stored by 3rd party application called MailChimp. They are a big technology company. If they get hacked, then everyone’s email address will be out there. But these kind of firms are way more knowledgeable about it than this little furniture business, so I believe they are the most likely to keep that kind of info safe.
Please do not send us any sensitive data ever (e.g., Social Security, bank account, or credit card numbers) by email or any other way. We do not process credit cards in-house and will never ask for your credit card or banking information. We may direct clients to an Intuit owned Quick Books website to process certain transactions. For certain other services, we will provide you with payment options through a 3rd party installer we work with. Only follow these types of links from Office Furniture NYC in direct consultation with your sales rep.
You are a welcome guest here on my website. Read anything you like. Enjoy the photos. I don’t give you permission to scrape this website. I do not give you permission to copy anything from here. Not furniture photos, or any text not even goofy text on the legal notice page. My guess is if you do, you will wind up copying this also because I think you are not very smart about reading if you are trying to copy someone else's website. Go make your own website. Bunch of idiot copycats, seriously who invited you here anyway? GTFO already!
Are you European? ehh, maybe you want to look at someone else's used office furniture website? I dont understand about GDPR regulations. I don’t think they apply to me here in New Jersey, but if you are visiting me from Paris and I see your google analytics data, maybe that will take away a part of your European Human Rights? That might cause you to loose paid vacation days, access to good food, the right to travel international without passports? I don’t want to do that. Since I can really only help companies here in the New York City metro area, maybe lets both do each other a favor and leave each other alone? You go your way, I go mine? Last thing I want to do is get pulled off an airplane in Madrid and taken to Brussels to face charges related to how I operate my NYC website. Can we just agree that we will be cool with each other? ok, then fine, you can stay here. If not, go somewhere else. Enjoy your rights and easy work life balance on someone else’s dime.
Sometimes we sell product and services ourselves and sometimes, we work as an agent. Why? We are good at executing on some things and not so good at others. If you are buying furniture, there is a good chance you are buying directly from us. If it is exclusively service work, we will likely have the installer bill you directly. Will we stay involved in the process? Yes. Can we control anything that happens inside a company other than ours? no, of course not. If we act as an agent, and you sign a contract with a company we are selling on behalf of, your legal agreement will be with them, not us. You are only dealing with Abivad LLC as your vendor when you pay an invoice or sign a contract with the name Abivad right up at the top. Questions, lets chat BEFORE you place your order.
Do you like our domain names? Thanks, we tried to be creative (just kidding, Office Furniture NYC is kind of generic and maybe even a bit lame, but I have not had a better idea in years so, whatevs, thats what I call the company) Do you resent the fact that I have HobokenOfficeFurniture.com and think you should have it instead of me? Well, sorry for living. I have lived in Hoboken, I have sold furniture in Hoboken and at one point I ran my business from there. You have a trademark? Meh, I think I would win that fight. Anyway, domains are not for sale (again just kidding, we have way too many domains for this little office furniture business to ever use so feel free to reach out and I can work out a deal on 90% of the domains we have in stock)
When we sell used furniture it is usually sold AS-IS. There are no returns or refunds in any situation unless approved by me, and I am usually not inclined to do a return or refund unless I am convince that I am truly totally 100% in the wrong about something. Same goes for any of the firms we sell furniture or services on behalf of. If you have questions, please ask.
We sell used and new furniture. Used is Used, not new and not like-new. Questions about that will be gone over when we speak. But if you need perfect, we should be talking about New. Not even refurbished is perfect, its good enough for most, but only new is new.
OfficeFurnitureNYC.com is owned and operated by Abivad LLC: a New Jersey Limited Liability Company. Abivad is 100% owned and managed by Joshua Bernstein.
Privacy notice updated April 2020 (during a freaking global pandemic, so if this is not perfect, sit down and cut me some slack).
2023 update - my friend Zack is a lawyer. He just read this and told me it is not actually a real legal notice, so I might have to add some actual BS legal gobbledygook to make sure you litigious bottom-feeding scumbags are not actually able to take away my house or kids. I trust my lawyer, he went to U. Chicago for law school and whoever is reading this defiantly did not go there.
